Happy Halloween!

We had another great Halloween this year! Here are the photos of the costumes as promised:Preston as a shark with the best preschool teacher ever, Mrs Flack as the tooth fairy.
Carter as Harry Potter walking in his school Halloween parade. I got to help his class make a fun Halloween treat. It was a frankenstein head made from a pudding cup colored with green food coloring, oreos for his hair and with m&ms on each side of the cup for his "bolts". It was a big hit!

Ready to go trick or treating!

Claire my adorable little watermelon. She was loving all the candy and managed to leave some remains on her costume. This was so much cuter in real life! Watching her walk around in this was hysterical. She even kept the hat on the entire night!
We went over to my mom's house after trick or treating to spend time with the cousins. Katrina dressed up as Hermoine this year so we had to get a photo of Harry and Hermoine together. So cute!

BYU Games and an update

It's been a while since I have written on the blog, but not a lot of exciting things have been happening. I got a nasty cold/flu that hung around for 2 weeks! It was ridiculous. The boys have been having lots of fun at school and are learning so much. Preston is doing amazing with reading! His teacher is so impressed with how quickly he is going through books. I do have a funny conversation that I need to document between the two of us.
Me:Preston what is your favorite thing about preschool?
Preston: Playing with toys.
Me:What else?
Preston: Leaving.
I burst out laughing! He really does love it, and I know that his brain is being challenged which he needs.
Carter is loving math. He also loves reading chapter books with me. At parent teacher conferences he got nothing but great reports. He is way ahead in all areas. Plus, he has lots of friends and seems to be obedient to his teacher. I am proud of him! He had an all about me day where he got to tell about himself and bring things from home to show. He brought an England flag to show his class. He is so excited to go visit James' family for Christmas (we all are)!

James was lucky enough to score some free season pass tickets from BYU (one of his clients at work.) We have taken turns going and have loved cheering on the cougs! Preston went to his first game a few weeks ago. He did great and stayed the entire time. James said he would stand up and do the ra-ra part of the song when BYU scored. He also got a cougar tail that he of course brought home to share with Carter. When Carter got to go he had enough food to eat in one night for 3 days!

James and I went to the game last Saturday together. He got an invite to eat dinner in the corporate tent catered by Chef's Table. It was delicious. It was also chilly so at half time we were able to warm up and get some hot chocolate. It was a fun date night!
Not a lot else to update. Just same old, same old. Getting excited for Halloween!! Hopefully some fun photos of the kids in their costumes soon!

17 months

Claire is now 17 months old! Seems like just yesterday we brought her home from the hospital. She is at such a fun age. She has started to develop quite the fun personality. She loves to make people laugh just like Preston. She FINALLY started to walk about a month ago. She was totally stable but just wouldn't let go and do it unless we would hold her hand. She is a stubborn one that is for sure!
She is still doing the hair grab and sucks her thumb. Still adorable.
She loves to stuff way too much food in her mouth at one time. She is also my grocery store buddy while Preston is at preschool. When she wants something she says mommy and points. So if she does that around you, know that she doesn't miss me, she is just wanting you to give her something. haha She recently started saying w'diss? for what's this? It is so cute.
Preston still loves his skeleton jammies from last Halloween. I saw some pink ones at different stores but they were all so expensive! I'm not paying 15 dollars for one pair of jammies! I then spotted some at Walmart for 6 dollars. Sold. Preston thinks Claire is so cool that she matches him. Those two have formed quite a cute relationship now that Carter is in school. They love to make each other laugh and they get each other's humor.
Fall is here! This day it was pretty chilly so we pulled out the sweaters and boots. I can't say enough how fun it is to have a little girl to dress!! She has way better clothes than I do!
She is into everything. I am following her around, cleaning up after everything she is pulling out. I guess it comes with a 1 year old! She will do something she knows she isn't supposed to and will tell herself no before I do. Other fun things she does at this age:
*BIG time Daddy's girl. She gets jealous when he is playing with the boys and not her. One day she would start to scream when the boys would go near him. As soon as they moved away she stopped. We played that game for awhile and laughed our heads off! Most nights I will tell her to say goodnight to Daddy and once she sees him, it's over. He has to put her bed. (He loves it)
*She blows kisses
*going through a horrible sleeping pattern. Is really restless and will cry randomly throughout the night. Half the time it's night terrors, other times she has gotten her legs stuck in the crib rails, and also just got 3 new molars. So not fun.
*Loves to dance. She shakes her hips and shoulders like a latin dancer! Where did that come from?
*When she is trying to sing to music she just mouths pretend words like she is lip syncing. It is so funny to see in person.
*She is obsessed with pigs. She has a piggy bank that she used to have to say goodnight to. I think that is where it started. Now she will find the little plastic pigs in our farm set and little people set and only play with those.
*She loves to mess her hair up. It drives me crazy. I end up doing her hair about a million times a day. She thinks she is so funny. Mommy isn't laughing! :)
*She loves to watch backyardigans and blues clues. Anything with music she loves.
*Loves to read her little Pooh books that Preston got for his first birthday. She carries them around and babbles pretending to read them. I also have to read them to her about 50 times a day.
*Nap schedule fluctuates from 1 to 2 naps depending on my schedule for the day. Sometimes will not take a second nap, will just lay and chat for an hour to herself.
*Is 18.5 pounds. The 2nd percentile for weight. Still in 85% for head size. A true English!
