Spring Break 2013/Kate's Visit

On Tuesday we took the kids to the zoo with our annual pass and it was perfect weather and minimal crowds. It had been raining earlier on in the day, so we went in the afternoon after it had all dried up. We let each kid take a picture of their favorite animal of the day on the camera. This lizard was Preston's favorite-it's green so of course he loves it!
Carter decided that Claire's favorite was the meerkats...although I would beg to differ. That girl loves the polar bear and seals more than anything!
We also went to Red Robin and had a yummy lunch beforehand. James took the day off to be with us. I love doing things with just our little family.
Carter's favorite was the tiger. He was hiding out and we thought we had missed him but while we were waiting for James to go to the restroom, he came back and we had a front row view. Pretty awesome!
Hudson was happy to just chill out in the stroller. He was smiling at everyone that he passed. He gets smiles and people tell me all the time how cute his dimples are and what an adorable baby he is. I can't argue with them, he is pretty darn cute!
Waiting for the polar bear to come around.
Out of order...James watching Hudson while I showered one day. Such a blessing that he can work from home most of the time. He gets to see our kids way more than most dads.

 CHEESE!!
Wednesday we went to the Dinosaur museum with our friends and neighbors the Bowles. Carter, Preston, and their two boys Weston, and Davin play together all the time. They live right next door so it is super convenient.
Claire was so proud of herself for her little tree and dinosaur in the sand. She played in there for a good half hour.

Claire watched Cinderella (she got it for Easter) for the first time and ran up to get James to watch it with her. He is wrapped around her little finger so he couldn't say no. Such a cute little moment.
 She loves her daddy!
James getting creative one night that I was out to dinner with friends.
Carter is always ready to help finish off the shrimp. He is obsessed!

Kate came to visit and I met her at the airport and she showed me this shirt! I was SOO excited and can't wait to meet this new little one. This is her first and she is due the end of November. I am so thrilled for her and Chris.
Carter had his first lacrosse game on Saturday and got his new uniform. They won 6-2 and he even got a little battle wound on his thigh that he was pretty proud of.
It even says his name on the back of his jersey! Pretty cool!

Kate getting in some bonding time with Hudson and Claire.

Claire loved her and was so sad to see her leave. Me too! I just love great friends!
It was conference today and James made some yummy healthy banana muffins.

The kids got their own colors of m&ms to play conference bingo with. Great talks! My favorite was Elder Holland's of course. He is amazing.
My mom always wants more pictures of Hudson so I took some of him tonight in his lobster jammies that Kate and I bought when we were shopping at the outlets. Such a little cutie boy.

And that's it! We are all caught up! It's a miracle!!!!

Easter!

Easter came the last day in March this year which isn't my favorite, but the weather actually cooperated and was nice and warm. I got a new wreath...my cousin has had one like this for a few years that I have been envious of. This one was at Target and once I saw it, I had to have it! It makes me happy every time I drive up to my house.
Hudson's Easter basket-I got him a see and say with animals. I loved that toy when I was a kid!
Carter's basket hidden in the riff raff of the work out room closet. He got a skylander (hotdog), and some pokemon cards, which he was thrilled about!
Preston's hidden in the blankets-next time I won't have James take pictures of the baskets haha
His fun thing was books, coloring book, pokemon cards, and muppet bandaids
Claire got a fun bug bubble blower and strawberry shortcake bandaids
I got a picture after church (her hair was a little crazy but oh well) of her in her Easter dress and below is her after the egg hunt when she had eaten lots of chocolate and played in the dogs water at my brother's house. Total disaster!
Hudson loves to have us hold his hands while he walks around. This is his little Easter sweater vest. The boys didn't get anything new so no pictures of them, sorry! Also another video of Claire gathering up her eggs. So fun to be with family even though we missed my parents.

March in pictures

Hudson got his first hair cut. He had old man hair on the top so we took the clippers and made it all even. Much better now!
My friend Shelly is very ill and has to stay in bed a lot of the time. I brought Hudson over with me when I went to visit her and he was just being his usual sweet self and making her smile. He loved her and would press his forehead against hers and just start laughing. It was really sweet. He is just a little ray of sunshine wherever he goes!
Yummy roast dinner with roast, yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, and yummy gravy! Since we aren't at my mom's house every Sunday anymore, we get to have our own roast dinners. Hopefully we can have friends over more often on Sundays. That's our new goal.
Hudson has grown up so much this month. He sits up great, then started crawling, and is now pulling himself up on everything! All within a month, it's crazy! He also is really loving toys now too.
James is training for two half ironman races this year with the St. George race coming in May. He wanted to multitask so he had a conference call at the office to be on, so he rode his bike at the same time. He is crazy, I know. Whatever works and takes less time away from us, I am good with! haha
Claire and her favorite past time of taking photos of herself and others. She is naked half the time because she is still peeing a little in her underwear before she makes it to really go on the potty. This happens atleast once a day. It drives me bananas. She'll get it, she just likes to do things her own way and is very stubborn. I love that girl!
St. Patricks day was fun but not quite as fun as usual since it wasn't on a school day. Lucky the leprechaun brought the kids chocolate lucky charms (that was all that was left at walmart), green ring pops, and turned the milk and toilet water green, and left their doors shamrocked. The kids loved finding the four leafed clovers on each of their doors. I love celebrating holidays with the kids. It makes it so much more fun!
Look at this big boy standing up in his sister's crib! Claire has also become obsessed with blankets nowadays too. She has about 10 different blankets that we have to go through their names as I lay them on her. (silky, peppa, tiger, heart, sheep, special, flower, etc.) This along with her animals and sheepy the pillow pet make it quite crowded in that crib of hers. She loves it though!
Carter started up lacrosse practice again and is really enjoying it!
The weather is finally getting a little warmer so the boys have been having fun driving Claire around.
James got an invite up to Sundance for a business ski night with hors d'oeuvres at the top of the mountain. He took his friend Ben from the neighborhood as his plus one since I have vowed no more skiing for life! haha

 Such pretty scenery!
Found Claire at the bottom of the stairs watching TV. All of my kids love to lay here for some reason.
 Bath time!
While James was riding his bike in the basement Claire came in with this getup. Love that girl!
Found this spatula in the bottom of the dishwasher. It smelled like burned plastic the rest of the day. Yuck.
Snuggling on a Sunday morning together.

My brother Greg who is 38 and has never been married, finally found the girl of his dreams! We absolutely LOVE her and she fits so well in our family. Her name is Cathy and she is 36, has a little daughter Lucy, and has never been married before either. They are so perfect for each other. Greg got a ring and wanted to propose that night! We helped him come up with a fun scavenger hunt with clues and flowers at each stop.
She started at Somewhere Inn time reception center and I was standing there (she was supposed to meet Greg there) and was so surprised! The next clue led her to the house I grew up in, then to her dad's grave at Orem Cemetary, and finally ended up at Orem High School where she and Greg originally knew each other. She was two years younger than him in school and he had a crush on her back then. Life is crazy how it all comes together! They are getting married on June 14th and we couldn't be more thrilled!
The boys practicing lacrosse in the backyard. Every time Carter caught the ball he won an m&m and every time he made a bad throw he lost an m&m. He loved it!
We got the boys new beds. The bunk bed was breaking and looking like it was ready to fall in on Preston. It was time and they both wanted their own space. I think they are loving them.
Claire had some chocolate chips one morning (she hounds me every day for a treat! I was on the phone, don't judge me) and she dropped a few that Hudson managed to get a hold of. He was so proud of himself and loved every minute of it!
It has been a busy month. I feel like I have had dinners with friends and church stuff almost every night of the week! We had ramen noodles this night (which my kids never get) and they thought is was the coolest thing ever. Mom of the year award right here! haha
